Real Estate Property Tax Payments

The City of Abbotsford is located in two counties, Clark County and Marathon County.

The City collects real estate property taxes at the City Hall from about the third week in December until January 31st. 
Any real estate payments outside of that time can be mailed directly to the Clark or Marathon County Treasurer's office.

Where does my money go?

Each real estate property tax bill is made up of 4 jurisdictions: County, City, School District, and Technical College. This means that the total you pay is split between each of these jurisdictions. The amount of your total due that goes to each jurisdiction is the amount seen under the 20XX NET TAX column.  If you are eligible for the First Dollar Credit and/or Lottery and Gaming Credit, this amount is shown below the jurisdictions and is subtracted from your total due. So, what does my money get used for on the City level?

Property tax money collected is used to fund:

  • Emergency Services - Fire department, Police Department, EMS
  • Abbotsford Public Library
  • City Park Maintenance
  • Abbotsford Cemetery Maintenance
  • Infrastructure Maintenance - road maintenance & construction
  • Overall City Budget - payroll, election supplies, municipal court, City owned building utilities and maintenance, etc.
