Municipal Court
Abbotsford Municipal Court has jurisdiction over traffic and city ordinance violations. The Municipal Court only hears traffic and ordinance citations issued by the Colby-Abbotsford Police Department in the City of Abbotsford and Colby. If you received a citation in the City of Abbotsford or Colby by another agency such as the Clark or Marathon County Sheriff’s Department or Wisconsin State Patrol, those are heard in Circuit Court at a County Courthouse.
Abbotsford Municipal Court cannot accept payments for other courts; if you have a payment or question concerning a citation in another court, you will need to contact them. The Court information will be in the upper left-hand corner of the citation you have received.
As with all courts, you have the right to be represented by an attorney, however, Municipal Court does not appoint an attorney, nor does it pay for any attorney costs or expenses.
Court is held the third Tuesday of the month in the Council Chambers, Abbotsford City Hall.
